एएमयू में सर सैयद अहमद खानः द मसीहा फिल्म की विशेष स्क्रीनिंग

अलीगढ़, 19 दिसंबरः सर सैयद अहमद खानः द मसीहादो खंडों में बहु प्रतीक्षित बायोपिकजो 19वीं सदी के समाज सुधारक और अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के संस्थापक के जीवनदृष्टि और मिशन तैयर की गई है बुधवार रात को एप्पल टीवी पर रिलीज हो गई।

सर सैयद अकादमी के तत्वावधान मेंसांस्कृतिक शिक्षा केंद्र के सहयोग से अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के कैनेडी ऑडिटोरियम में बुधवार शाम को फिल्म के संपादित संस्करण की विशेष स्क्रीनिंग की गईजिसमें फिल्म के कुछ पात्रों को एएमयू की कुलपति प्रोफेसर नईमा खातून ने सम्मानित किया।

बायोपिक पर चर्चा करते हुएफिल्म के निर्माता और निर्देशक शोएब चैधरीजिन्होंने सर सैयद अहमद खान की भूमिका भी निभाईने कहा कि इस फिल्म को पूरा करने में हमें लगभग 11 साल लग गएक्योंकि इसमें बहुत अधिक शोध शामिल था और विषय की राजनीतिक रूप से संवेदनशील प्रकृति थी।

चैधरी ने कहा कि फिल्म को एएमयू में अच्छी प्रतिक्रिया मिलीजो बहुत संतोषजनक है। स्क्रीनिंग सेशन का संचालन करते हुएफिल्म में शिबली नोमानी की भूमिका निभाने वाले सैयद साहिल आगा ने इस प्रोजेक्ट से जुड़े कुछ रोचक किस्से साझा किए। उन्होंने कहा कि फिल्म के कलाकार मिशन का हिस्सा बन गए और उनकी प्रतिबद्धता और कड़ी मेहनत के कारण बायोपिक सफल हो पाई।

पटकथा और संवाद लेखक मुतयिम कामली ने कहा कि उस समय के सामाजिक-राजनीतिक परिवेश को ध्यान में रखते हुए शुरुआत में यह आसान नहीं था। बायोपिक में संवाद और पटकथा में व्यक्ति और उसके समय के लहजे और भाषा को दर्शाना होता है। सर सैयद अहमद खान के व्यक्तित्व के सभी पहलुओं को सामने लाना था। सर सैयद के खिलाफ बहुत नकारात्मक प्रचार किया गया हैइसलिए यह मेरे लिए एक चुनौती थी और प्रोफेसर शाफे किदवई के मार्गदर्शन ने हमारी बहुत मदद की।

स्क्रीनिंग के दौराननिर्माता शोएब चैधरीप्रसिद्ध अभिनेता अक्षय आनंददीक्षा तिवारीजावेद आब्दीसंवेदना सुवालकासाहिल आगायाकूब गौरी सहित कुछ अभिनेताओं को एएमयू कुलपति प्रोफेसर नईमा खातून ने स्मृति चिन्ह और गुलदस्ते भेंट किए।

              JMI’s APDUMT and NCPUL jointly organizes National Seminar on Teaching of



                         Urdu   Language and Literature

New Delhi: The Academy of Professional Development of Urdu Medium Teachers (APDUMT), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), New Delhi,  jointly organised a one-day national seminar titled “Teaching of Urdu Language and Literature: Problems and New Teaching Methodology at Primary, Secondary, and Senior Secondary Level”. The inaugural session of the seminar was conducted at the FTK-CIT, Conference Hall, on December 18, 2024.  The event brought together renowned academicians, researchers, practitioners, and students from across the country to deliberate on issues and concerns of Urdu language teaching- learning and education through Urdu medium. The event highlighted the importance of promoting Urdu as a language and as a medium of instruction.

The inaugural session of the seminar commenced with a warm welcome of the guests by Dr. A. Wahid Nazeer, the organising secretary of the seminar. The inaugural session was presided over by Prof. Mazhar Asif, Vice Chancellor, JMI.  In his welcome address Dr. Kalimullah from NCPUL, highlighted the significance of the seminar and emphasized the importance of the mother tongue.

During the session, two significant books were released by the panel of guests. One titled as Peshname written by Dr. A. Wahid Nazeer and second book titled as “New Trends in Pedagogy: NEP 2020 Prospects and Challenges”, edited by Prof. Jasim Ahmad, Prof. Roohi Fatima, Dr. Aerum Khan, and Dr. Ansar Ahmad. The release ceremony added a moment of pride and celebration to the event.

In his address, Vice Chancellor of JMI, Prof. Mazhar Asif, referred to the linguistic diversity of India along with a mention of sociolinguistic awareness and cross-cultural communication.

Prof. Jasim Ahmad, Director, APDUMT, emphasized the role of teachers in students’ lives along with a focus on the promotion of Urdu language. He also underlined the need for continuous professional development of teachers to meet the current needs of the learners and said that a good teacher must be a good researcher as well.

In his keynote address, Dr. Md. Faruq Ansari, Head, DEL, NCERT, provided an insightful overview of the topic, emphasizing the relevance of mother tongue in today’s academic and professional landscapes.  Prof. Sara Begum, Dean, Faculty of Education, mentioned the importance of the language in the holistic development of students. The inaugural session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Hina Afreen, Asst. Professor, APDUMT, JMI.

The seminar was structured into five technical sessions, each addressing various sub-themes under the main topic. The themes of the seminar were: 1. Urdu as a subject and Urdu as Medium of Instruction at different levels of School Education, 2. Higher Education & Status of Urdu Teaching-learning, 3. Digitization and Use of AI in Education-Present Status and Future Prospects, and 4. Career opportunities, challenges, and way outs for Urdu Medium Students.

Renowned experts from different universities like DU, JNU, AMU, MANUU and many more were present in the seminar. During the five technical sessions in parallel mode a total of 40 research papers were presented, followed by interactive discussions.

The seminar concluded with a valedictory session, in which discussions were summarized and the key takeaways highlighted. This session was presided over by Prof. Shahzad Anjum, Urdu Department, JMI and Prof. Shehpar Rasool, graced the valedictory session as the chief guest. Prof. Rasool, in his address discussed the literary importance of Urdu and its significance in the realm of education. Prof. Shahzad  Anjum emphasised the role of the Academy in the professional development of Urdu-medium teachers. The coordinators of the seminar, Dr. Hina Afreen, Asst. Professor, APDUMT and Dr. Naushad Alam, Translator, APDUMT, smoothly executed the event.

The best paper presentation awards were given across themes, and certificates of paper presentation were distributed to the presenters. The session ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Naushad Alam.

AMU Claims North Zone Hockey Title with 3-1 Triumph over GKU

Aligarh, December 7: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) emerged victorious in the North Zone Hockey Tournament, defeating Gurukul Kangri University (GKU) 3-1 in a thrilling final held at the University Synthetic Turf Hockey Ground.

The victory underscores the university's rich sporting tradition and commitment to fostering athletic excellence. The fiercely contested match showcased exceptional skill and teamwork, with AMU seizing decisive moments to claim the championship. The AMU team opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a penalty corner converted by Vasu. Fahad from Gurukul Kangri University leveled the match in the 17th minute. However, AMU regained the lead in the 28th minute through Azim, making it 2-1. Captain Mohammad Saif sealed the victory in the 58th minute, extending the lead to 3-1. AMU’s dominance secured them the tournament title in style.

AMU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Naima Khatoon, commended the team for their exceptional performance, applauding their dedication and perseverance.

The event was graced by Guest of Honors Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, Mr. M. Chandra Uttam (SP Traffic), and Dr. Shivam Sharma, IRTS (Regional Director Sports Authority of India), who presided over the prize and medal distribution ceremony, presenting awards to the winning and runner-up teams.

Amjad Ali Rizvi, Secretary of the University Games Committee; Prof. Ghulam Sarwar Hashmi, President of the Hockey Club and Organising Secretary; Deputy Director of Sports, Mr.  Anis Ur Rahman; Assistant Director, Mr. Arshad Mehmood; AMU Proctor Prof. M Wasim Ali, former national hockey players Mr. Mohammad Shaida and Mr. Mohammad Ali; former captains Mr. Navaid Zia and Mr. Hussain Wahid, EC Member Dr. Murad A Khan , Dr. Faisal Sherwani, Mr Mazharul Qamar along with many alumni and AMU sports enthusiasts.

ALIGARH December 5: Prof Mohammed Quamrul Hooda Faridi, Chairman, Department of Urdu and Prof Shahab Fazal, Chairman, Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University have been nominated as Members on the Executive Committee of the Directorate of School Education, for a period of two years or till they serve as members of the Academic Council.

 12 AMU students get ICSSR full-term doctoral fellowship

ALIGARH December 5: Twelve students of Aligarh Muslim University, belonging to different faculties and departments have been selected for the award of ICSSR Centrally-administered and full-term funded Doctoral Fellowship for the financial year 2024-25.

According to the result of the above fellowship declared on the website of the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), out of the 12 AMU students getting the doctoral fellowship, 11 have been selected for the grant under UGC-NET qualified category while one student has been given the fellowship under the Non-NET category.

These students include Rizwan Qasim, Aysha Khan, Rubab Mohsin, Firdaus, Haris Noor, Anam Fatima, Wajiha, Arshy Kamal, Md Sajid Raza, Rahoof Ahmed, Sabiha Khan and Mohammad Salman.

Another student, Suha Bilquis has been selected for the ICSSR Centrally Administered Short-Term Doctoral Fellowship for the financial year 2024-25.

It may be noted that the ICSSR grants Doctoral Fellowship to the PhD scholars to pursue their doctoral research in social and human sciences aimed at changing societal dynamics and social challenges through effective evidence-based research to fulfil India’s aspirations to become a global power.

The ICSSR has presently declared a list of 473 research scholars for the grant of Centrally-administered and full-term funded Doctoral Fellowship for the financial year 2024-25, who will pursue their research in 28 comprehensive fields of Social and Human Sciences, including Economics / Development Studies, Management, Commerce, Sociology/Social Work, Social Anthropology, Culture Studies, Sanskrit Studies, Socio-Philosophical Studies, Sociolinguistics, Gender Studies, Health Studies, Political Science, International Relations/ Geopolitics, Public Administration, Diaspora Studies, National Security and Strategic Studies, Education and Skilling, Social Psychology, Legal Studies, Social and Human Geography, Environmental Studies, Modern Social History, Media Studies, Library Science, Language Studies, Indian Knowledge Systems, Rural Studies and Divyangjan Studies.

Prof Arif Nazeer, Dean, Faculty of Arts congratulated the selected students and hoped their research work will be beneficial to the human kind and will contribute to the development of the country.

Prof Shafey Kidwai, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, while congratulating these students on receiving the full-term fellowship, urged them to adopt innovative and Artificial Intelligence (AI) supported research methodologies to make their research work more reliable, effective and with a multidisciplinary relevance.

AMU Professor becomes member on the board of English language education at EFLU

ALIGARH December 7: Prof Raashid Nehal, Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University has been nominated as Member, Board of the School of English Language Education at the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) on the recommendation of its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Haribandi Lakshmi.

Prof Nehal has been nominated for a period of three years in view of his expertise in material design and development in the area of English language teaching (ELT). The Board will regulate and promote schemes for the advancement of research and will perform all functions as prescribed by the related Act, statutes and ordinances of EFLU.

Prof Nehal has more than 32 years’ experience of English language teaching and he has served as Director, AMU Kishanganj Centre, and as member on AMU EC, AC and the Court.

JMI Polytechnic students WON Rs. ONE Lakh

 

JMI University Polytechnic students secure first position in National Cube Test Competition, win rupees 1 Lakh prize money 

New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia's (JMI) University Polytechnic students, Md Faizan Ashraf, Danish Iqbal, and Md. Shahnawaz Khan, have brought laurels to JMI by attaining 1st rank in the coveted National Cube Test Competition - Season 2. 


The event was organized by the Indian Concrete Institute and RDC Concrete at Scope Complex, New Delhi on December 3, 2024. The team was awarded a prize of ₹1,00,000 for their outstanding ability in creating innovative and cost-effective concrete mix solutions which was showcased in the competition. 

 

This remarkable accomplishment was attained under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Abdul Hameed Siddiqui and Dr. Aftab Alam from the Civil Engineering Section. The competition featured participation from leading institutions nationwide, rendering this award a notable milestone for the University Polytechnic of JMI.

 

Vice Chancellor JMI, Professor Mazhar Asif along with the Registrar, Professor Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, conveyed their commendations to the winners. The Vice Chancellor encouraged the Principal of the University Polytechnic to motivate students to engage more actively in national-level competitions.

 

The Principal of University Polytechnic, Dr. M A Khan, along with the Head of the Civil Engineering Section, Md.Shahid Akhtar, congratulated both the students and their mentors for their diligence, creativity, and commitment.

Aah! Mere Dost SM Khan nahin rahe.

                   Ek barhi Shakhsiyat ke malik, mein ne jab bhi kisi ghareeb, besahara, zarooratmand applicant ko unke pass bheja, High Govt. Post par rehte hue  masroofiyat ke bawajood us ghareeb ko khandapeshani aur muskurate hue uski baat suni aur use hal Kara diya.                            Mere bheje hue ek sahab khurje ki khurchan le gaye to unke unknown hone par mujh se bahut naraz hue. Mein ne yaqeen dilaya ki mein ne inko koi aisi salah nahin de thi.                             Ek baar mein AMU Old Boy's Association ka ek delegation lekar President house gaya. Ittefaq se hamari car red zone mein chali gayi. Foran security officers ne hamare ooper riflen tan deen.                           Ham ne bataya ki ham SMKhan sb ke rishtedar hain woh hamara intezar kar rahe hain tab unhone kaha is car ko yahin chhorh dejiye cheking hogi hamari car mein betho tab jalwa dekha SM Khan sb ka. Unke munh se kisi ki kabhi burai nahin suni.  


             VC,  AMU Lt. General Zameeruddin Shah sb se milne Aligarh aye to mujhe sath lekar Gaye aur unhen bataya ki Masood mere dost aur Class fellow hain . Yeh unka barhappan aur zarranawazi thi.               Unke motivation se hi mein ne SALAMEVATAN NEWSPAPER 2003 se shuru kiya jo ab nett par publish ho raha hai.  Allah unko Jannat ata farmaye aur ehle khana ko sabr e Jameel ata farmaye.

JNMCH Hosts CME on Antimicrobial Resistance and Pharmacovigilance

Aligarh, November 21: The Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Monitoring Centre at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on “Antimicrobial Resistance: A Pharmaco-vigilance Approach” on November 19, as part of World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week (WAAW 2024). Conducted under the Pharma-covigilance Programme of India (PvPI), the event was supported by the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, and catered to 93 nursing staff participants.

Chief Guest Prof. Veena Maheshwari, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, emphasized the need for proactive ADR reporting of all pharmaceutical reactions.Prof. Syed Ziaur Rahman, AMC Coordinator, inaugurated the session by endorsing the important role of nursing staff in ADR monitoring under the national Pharmacovigilance Programme.

The scientific session featured Prof. Fatima Khan, Convener of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, who discussed the significance of stewardship programs at JNMC. Prof. Rahman highlighted AMC’s contributions through illustrative ADR cases. Mr. Gufran Ali, Pharmacovigilance Associate, trained participants in ADR reporting forms.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Hooma Ruhi, Assistant Nursing Superintendent, and was coordinated by Dr. Riya Sharma, Junior Resident, Department of Pharmacology.
